Builder of the world’s highest and longest elevated pool to speak at SPLASH! Asia
Marcus Ng, Project Director of Innovez Sports Technologies, the design-and-build pool specialist who constructed the Sands SkyPark pool, is to speak at SPLASH! Asia in Singapore.
In Singapore, it’s impossible to miss the stunning Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort – and the spectacular pool that sits atop the three hotel towers on the 57th storey. The Sands SkyPark is a 340-metre long superstructure that comprises landscaped gardens, dining facilities, an entertainment venue and an impressive 150-metre infinity-edged swimming pool that offers unhindered views of the Singapore skyline.
Now you can catch the man behind the amazing construction – Marcus Ng Project Director of Innovez Sports Technologies.
He will be talking in Singapore about the challenges of working on a pool that comprised three separate 50-metre long stainless steel enclosures, connected at each joint by four-tonne moveable terraces that function like bridges; and creating a 150-metre long infinity edge 250 metres in the air.
The Sands SkyPark pool is constructed entirely of pre-fabricated high-grade low-carbon stainless steel, allowing the pool to accommodate building movements from wind and gravity. Ng will elaborate on the engineering innovations of the Marina Bay Sands Skypark Pool and the potential of stainless steel pool construction.
He will deliver the seminar on The Dynamism and Possibilities of Stainless Steel Pools at SPLASH! Asia, May 4 to 5, 2011, at the Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.
