Fluidra voluntarily recalls Zodiac Z400 MD model heat pumps

Fluidra is initiating a voluntary product safety recall on Zodiac Z400 MD model heat pumps, effective immediately in the interest of customer safety.

Fluidra has been engaging with the relevant product safety regulators and the product recall was announced on July 8 2024.

The following Zodiac Z400 heat pumps sold by Fluidra between 1st December 2018 and 31st October 2023 are affected:

The Zodiac Z400 TD models are NOT affected by this recall.

Anita Begic, quality director for Fluidra APAC, says “The reason for the product recall is that the heat pump’s capacitor fails to disconnect from the circuit, which could lead to the unit catching fire. This poses a risk of serious injury, burns, or even death if the capacitor ignites. Additionally, there is a risk of serious property damage.”

Pool owners should stop using the heat pump immediately. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to switch off, then disconnect the plug. If it is hardwired, turn off the isolator switch. Consumers should contact Fluidra to arrange for a technician to repair the heat pump at no cost.  Instructions on how to turn off the power are available at www.zodiac.com.au/ProductRecall

Through the same website, a Booking Rework Registration Form is available for consumers to schedule the rework activity.
