Fun-filled evening
The packed ballroom was entertained by mesmerising mentalist, Anthony Laye - who literally had guests scratching their heads as to how he “read minds” and put a few guests in very funny predicaments. The evening was emceed by Laurie Lawrence, former Olympic and World Champion swim coach and safety advocate, who had everyone up and dancing to his "do the five" song. The sophisticated sounds of the Red Tie Band saw guests dance the night to a late conclusion.
SPASA chairman and CEO of Spa Industries Global, Rob Kruber extolled the amazing community that is the pool and spa industry.
“It’s big enough to impact almost everyone’s life yet small enough that any single one of us can make a difference,” he said.
“We have another record-breaking event with more entries and attendance than ever before. The work that our members are doing is world class. The products we build are inspirational and desirable, they create family memories, provide a place for recreation and relaxation and enhance our lives.”
SPASA CEO Lindsay McGrath praised the success of the 2018 SPLASH! Pool & Spa Trade Show, adding that the national awards gala dinner was a great way to end an incredible week of training and trade show excitement.
ALFA and Climate Care
Between the presentation of awards in 57 categories that covered all sectors of the industry, the Australian Leisure Facilities Association presented their own awards to worthy recipients.
SPASA’s Climate Care Certified Program was also launched in conjunction with Smart Approved WaterMark.
Matt Adlam, managing director of Fluidra said:
“On behalf of our newly formed company Fluidra we are honoured to be the Platinum Sponsor once again and we congratulate all winners on their well-deserved awards. We are very proud to be a part of what SPASA Australia represents and the fantastic work they are doing to lift the professionalism of our great industry, that keeps us well and truly on our toes.”
