Hot Water Heat Pumps cranks it up to 280 KW!

Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd with 30 years experience has become a one stop shop for complete design and engineering of some of the largest and most sophisticated heat pumps in the market.

One such example is Te Aroha Leisure Pools, who in 1998 required a heat pump to heat the pools to 28°C all year round. Two Performance Plus HW1600's (a total of128kW output) were installed to heat the swimming pools including Performance Plus HW353 for the Spa pool.

Due to extreme temperatures in Te Aroha the 28°C water in the pool was not comfortable enough for the users. An extra 36kW electric heater was added to increase the pool temperature to 32°C in the winter.This year Te Aroha Leisure Pools recently decided to upgrade the existing equipment and do away with the electric element back up.

Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd sized their largest Performance Plus heat pump a 7GP280S53-3, this 280kW heat pump behemoth is the biggest Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd have ever produced thus far for the New Zealand market. This unit was designed as two modules to make it easier to transport and install.

THE RESULT-The Spa could be heated from cold to 38°C in less than 12 hours and the pools have maintained a32°C temperature all winter long. Monitoring devices now installed so that the actual heating costs can be recorded and the efficiencies calculated in such hard winter conditions.
