Last chance to comment on energy efficiency standards for swimming pool pumps
Pool pump efficiency standards consultation meetings have been conducted around Australia over the past few months, and the Department of Environment and Energy is now calling for written submissions on the proposals by 21 December 2016. Details can be found here on theirĀ consultation page.
Many in the pool industry took the chance to hear about and discuss the options being proposed for improving energy efficiency of pool pumps. The meetings were supported by SPASA, with good numbers in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, but lower numbers in Brisbane, possibly due storm warnings on the night. The department also offered one-on-one meetings with Adelaide businesses.
Slides used at the meetings can be viewed the the energy rating website.
Attendees reflected interest from across the pool industry with businesses represented including: retailers, maintenance and pool services, pump manufacturers, pool builders, heating and equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
If you are interested in making a submission, but cannot meet the due date of 21 December, the department asks you to get in touch to discuss alternative arrangements by emailing poolpumps@environment.gov.au.
