Linda Taylor retires after 38 years in the industry
Waterco’s Western Australian manager, Linda Taylor, has retired after nearly four decades in the industry.
Richard Nottingham, Waterco’s WA sales representative, says her departure is a loss for the whole industry.
Taylor was with Waterco, or one of the businesses acquired by Waterco, for almost 39 years. She was with Aquahealth Pty Ltd when Waterco acquired it in April 1988, and then commenced operations at the Waterco WA branch.
After the change from Aquahealth to Waterco, she made her way through to branch manager, and rose to the occasion, making a great success of her role.
“During her time with Waterco, she has always put the company and her team first. This dedication from Linda saw Waterco continue as a major force in the local market in Western Australia,” says Nottingham.
“Linda has a reputation for honesty and following up on her word,” he says. “This was proven time and time again over the years, and was a virtue of which she was rightly proud, wearing it as a badge of honour.”
Nottingham says Taylor proved to be a wealth of knowledge not only regarding Waterco products, but also of the industry in general.
“Many customers – and even non-customers – knew that the answer to many queries was as simple as approaching Linda, and if she could not assist, then she would seek the answer for them.”
Taylor was also a long-time member of the SPASA WA committee where she selflessly gave her time after a long day at the office.
Her period with the WA association included the discussions around joining the national association of SPASA Australia – a decision which was eventually decided in the positive.
Her standing in the industry was evidenced by the large number of people who turned up to farewell her at a barbecue function in Perth, with staff from Waterco, Autopool and SPASA among the list of current and former customers and colleagues
After leaving Waterco, Taylor she intends to keep herself busy assisting pool shops in the short term, but says the big picture will hopefully include more campervan travel and more walks with her chihuahuas Stella and Audrey.
