New training era as SPASA launches research and learning institute
SPASA Australia has launched the Institute of Research and Learning (IRLearning), a further expansion of its growing education, professional training and research offering.
Over the past 10 years SPASA Australia has run SPASA Training, the only registered training organisation (RTO) dedicated to the swimming pool and spa industry in Australia.
During this time, SPASA Training has built a strong reputation for delivering quality training to the swimming pool and spa industry workforce. More recently it has expanded into business qualifications, as well as broadening its range of courses specific to the pool and spa industry.
“We started with pool and spa service qualifications before expanding to swimming pool building and landscaping, followed closely by business qualifications to address the evolving workforce needs,” says CEO Lindsay McGrath.
McGrath says they are continuing to evolve and expand their services in education and into research, and the new brand of Institute of Research and Learning better reflects the overall focus.
SPASA Training will continue to operate specific pool and spa training courses under the umbrella brand of IRLearning.
McGrath says SPASA Training has stood out among the 4000 RTOs in Australia as the only one dedicated to the swimming pool and spa industry, and in that time has built an enviable reputation.
“But as our industry is evolving, our training must evolve too,” he says.
“This is an exciting change for SPASA Australia and our members as it marks a strategic change in our future direction as a leading training provider, as IRLearning will offer research, advisory and advocacy services,” he says.
“While we continue to deliver trade and professional qualifications and our commitment to the swimming pool and spa industry will not change, there is incredible potential to grow. Our new branding positions us for those opportunities.”
