NSW Sport and Recreation Facility Grant applications now open
Grants of up to $200,000 are available for community based organisations and local government authorities to help people get more involved in sport. Applications close April 15.
The primary focus of the Sport and Recreation Facility Grant program is to assist with the funding for the development of local and regional level sport and recreation facilities. The aim of this program is to increase the availability, standard and quality of sport and recreation facilities in NSW.
The objectives of this are to:
1. Increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport, recreation or structured physical activity in a sustainable manner.
2. Improve access for people from groups that traditionally find it difficult to access sport.
3. Improve safety at sport and recreation facilities.
4. Develop environmentally sustainable sport and recreation facilities.
5. Assist people from identified groups that face barriers to participating in sport and recreation
Who can apply?
* NSW incorporated, community based not-for-profit organisations
* NSW Local Government Authorities operating under the Local Government Act (1993)
What level of funding is available?
* Grants are available from $500 - $200,000
Note: Grant amount requested cannot be more than 50 percent of the project cost. Organisational contribution can include voluntary labour. It is expected that the applicant will cover any administration costs incurred with the project.
