The 47 year old collapsed on April 24 while jogging. He was on holidays with his family and was training for an upcoming charity boxing match to raise money for sick and disadvantaged children through ToyBox International. He was taken to Busselton Regional Hospital but could not be revived.

Sad passing of son, brother, husband and father

As executive director Ben and his sister Lynley Papineau ran the company founded by their father Lew Beale, and Ben was also the face of the Aqua Technics television campaigns which were a feature of every Perth summer.

He had devoted more than 25 years to the family swimming pool manufacturing and retail company, and had been a key driver in the company’s success as well as a well-known and respected person across the industry.

Lew Beale said that he had been very privileged as a father to be able to work side by side with Ben for the past 25 years.

“One of my great joys of life has been coming to work together on a daily basis to work in the family business. At the moment we are wrapping our arms around his wife Sarah and his children,” he said.

Lynley Papineau said he was her brother first but also her business partner.

“We were extremely lucky to be able to work so closely together in business and still enjoy a glass of red together as a family,” she said.

“We are devastated to have lost a great leader, family member, colleague and friend. Ben was a people person and built many strong business relationships that formed the platform for success for ALT. We will all unite together at ALT and continue to build the business, taking strength from Ben’s legacy.”

SPLASH! offers sincere condolences to his friends, colleagues, and especially to his family. He leaves behind wife Sarah and five children, Mitch, Jasmin, Hayden, Jett and Ashley.

A public memorial service will be held at Crown Towers, Grand Ballroom on Tuesday 9th May 2-3pm.

Donations can still be made to Toybox.
