Pool industry lending a hand in Container Pools NZ fallout

May 15th, 2023

A group of New Zealand pool builders and suppliers has offered to help customers of failed pool manufacturer and installer Container Pools NZ, who has gone into liquidation owing approximately $NZ 3.5 million, and reportedly leaving 50 clients in the lurch.

New Zealand fibreglass pool installer Ultimate Pools general manager Rainbow Morris says they are offering to help affected consumers, pledging to deliver a discounted swimming pool package to clients in their area who have a contract which was not fulfilled by Container Pools NZ.

Ultimate Pools is the authorised New Zealand dealer and distributor for Compass Pools north of the Harbour Bridge and south of Laings Beach.

Joining Ultimate Pools in this endeavour are Dolphin Pacific Ltd, Space Industries, Austral Pool & Spa Products, Glass Vice Products and Watermaid NZ.

Combined with the discounted pool shells and installation from Ultimate Pools, these companies are offering robotic cleaners, chlorinators, heat pumps and pool fencing at reduced rates for those affected.

Morris says everyone at Ultimate Pools was shocked and saddened to hear that the dream of owning a swimming pool seems to have been blighted for so many families as the result of the collapse of Container Pools NZ.

“We are proud of our industry, and with our peers, strive for a professional approach to business. We believe that the swimming pool industry should be championed in such a way that clients can be confident when choosing a pool builder or company to deal with in good faith.

“For this reason, we have decided to assist customers who have been affected by this devastating loss to the best of our ability so they can continue to pursue the dream of owning a swimming pool.”
