Replace potty skimmers now
October 20th, 2010
SPASA NSW has issued a urgent recommendation to service technicians concerning potty skimmers. SPASA says that if you come across any of these old fashioned installations, you should provide advice to the customer (preferably in writing) that the potty skimmer should be replaced as a matter of urgency. This is to avoid the risk of entrapment.
If the original skimmer lid is available, it should be fitted into place using an acceptable adhesive. If the original skimmer lid is not available, a bar should be affixed across the potty skimmer entry to prevent the skimmer being used as a seat.
