SPASA seeks help with safety suctions

SPASA NSW has been lobbying the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to help it in a campaign to amend the Australian Standard AS1926.3, so that US-compliant safety fittings can be approved for use in Australia.

There is hope that with the OFT throwing its support behind the push, more rapid success can be achieved. It is understood other state offices of SPASA are also lobbying Standards Australia, asking they look more closely at the US standards. SPLASH! will keep you abreast of developments.
