Swim to save lives this March
Every day, another young person in Australia loses their life to suicide.
To help combat this epidemic, Laps for Life organises an annual swimming event to raise funds for ReachOut - an organisation that helps young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.
It’s free to sign up and with every lap you swim, you’ll help save lives.
Anyone can take part: whether you're new to the water or a competitive swimmer, you can get involved any way that suits you.
Swim anywhere you like: swim laps at your local pool, or hit the beach to take part in an ocean swim.
Swim as far as you can: set a goal that suits you, and use our handy lap calculator to decide how many sessions you'll need.
Swim whenever it suits you: you don’t need to swim every day, just pick the days and times that suit your lifestyle.
Swim whatever style you want: whether its freestyle, backstroke, butterfly or dog-paddle, just get swimming.
ReachOut Australia
ReachOut aims to improve mental health and wellbeing for all young people.
After friends and family, the internet is the first place young people turn to for information and support - that’s where ReachOut Australia comes in.
ReachOut Australia helps you feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge you're facing.
It’s a safe place where you can openly express yourself, explore what’s happening in your life, connect with people who understand your situation, and find the resources to help you manage challenges now and in the future. Anonymous, free and 100 per cent online, ReachOut has been designed specifically for – and with – young people.
From one-to-one support from experienced peer workers, to online forums, as well as tips, stories and resources, ReachOut offers a wide range of support options that allow you to engage in the ways you want to, when you want to.
Last year, ReachOut provided support to more than 2.5 million people.
