Victorian lockdown extended to July 27
UPDATE: Victoria's lockdown has been extended to Tuesday 27th July at 11.59pm.
UPDATE: Construction is now permissible.
Changes include outside construction, outdoor building, and maintenance work (including outdoor renovations, outdoor cleaning and solar installations), landscaping and gardening, pet grooming mobile services, and pamphlet delivery services.
Authorised Providers
The following businesses can open under restrictions. If their employees are unable to work from home they can leave home to attend work.
- Construction
- urgent services necessary for the health and safety of any person, animal or premises
- click and collect’ services
Services that operate solely outdoors where physical distancing can be maintained at all times. Permitted for up to five people (with an additional supervisor) for businesses with an ABN:
- Outdoor maintenance, repairs, cleaning and other building work, including at occupied premises.
- Home renovations and installations (outdoor only)
- Home solar panel installations (only for outdoor work or in roof cavities with external access).
Authorised Workers
Any person who performs work that is essential for the continued operation of:
- essential infrastructure and essential services that are required to maintain or protect human health, safety and wellbeing (whether provided by a public or private undertaking), and including construction, maintenance and repair of such infrastructure
- critical repairs to any premises where required for emergency or safety
- retail goods workers supporting the operation of click and collect or click and deliver orders
- building and construction services
- administrative services provided by an employer to enable its employees to work from home
- Example: Payroll and IT services
- organisations that provide urgent services necessary for the health and safety of any person, animal or premises
- services related to property settlement
Victorian Building and Construction Industry Agreed Industry COVID-19 Guidelines
It is recommended that all service and construction businesses read the Victorian Building and Construction Industry guidelines to ensure we maintain a safe and open industry. The guidelines have been adopted and agreed by the Victorian Building Authority along with Construction Unions and Employer and Industry Associations, including SPASA Australia.
