Winning golfers heading to Las Vegas thanks to Lo-Chlor
Once again, the Andrew Simons Memorial Golf Day was held on the Friday of SPLASH! and once again Queensland provided a beautiful sunny August day for a terrific round of golf on one of Australia’s best courses - this time the RACV Royal Pines PGA championship course.
And for the second time, sponsors Lo-Chlor generously offered the amazing prize of flights, accommodation, welcome dinner and entry tickets to attend the International Pool Spa Patio Expo (IPSPE) in Las Vegas.
After the18 holes on the Australian PGA Championship course were completed, six holes were randomly drawn, with the scores tallied for those holes. The best eight teams then nominated their preferred handicapped golfer for a playoff hole, after which the best three went on to play a further playoff hole.
At the end of the second playoff hole, scores were tied, so a playoff putt closest to the hole decided the winner.
Brothers Carl and Luke Gervais of Rode Pool Services in Queensland, and Dave Lorentz of Rose Bay Pools (who putted the winner in the playoff) won the day and will be heading to Las Vegas thanks to Lo-Chlor. Richard Simons was also in the winning team, but had left for the airport by the time the playoff was held.
