Avoiding deadly suction entrapment in Asian pools
Asian public and resort pools are not immune to the tragedy of suction entrapment – far from it. And while US and Australian legislation has moved ahead to protect swimmers from this danger, many Asian jurisdictions are lagging behind.
But it is not simply enough to meet local regulations, as an incident can have dire consequences for a business, including legal action and loss of patronage, on top of the obvious trauma of the death or serious injury.
At Piscine SPLASH! Asia, Hugh Smith, Asia Pacific Director of Pentair Aquatic Systems will be outlining ways to avoid suction entrapment. This is a must-attend event for anyone in the swimming pool industry, particular the commercial sector in Asia.
