SPLASH! Pool & Spa Trade Show to be held in June 2022

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the surge in covid infections across the country, event owner SPASA Australia, with organiser Interpoint, has made the unhappy but unavoidable decision to postpone the planned 2021 SPLASH! Pool & Spa Trade Show. The event will now be held in June 2022.

“This is a difficult decision that unfortunately had to be made due to the ever-changing travel restrictions and new health advice,” says SPASA CEO Lindsay McGrath.

He says the Queensland authorities confirmed SPLASH! could be held as the situation currently stands in that State. However, with the situation fluid and lockdowns being extended and strengthened around the country, holding the event on the original dates had too much uncertainty and would have severely impacted exhibitors and interstate attendees.

“Our priority is to protect the health and safety of all in the pool and spa industry,” he says. “Unfortunately, we had little choice but to postpone the event. We would like to thank the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre for allowing us to negotiate this postponement, limiting the loss of exhibitor funds.”

The event will now be held on Wednesday June 22 and Thursday June 23, 2022.

“The visitor pre-registration this year was tracking higher than previous expos, so we know the industry was looking forward to the event,” he says. “We apologise for the unavoidable inconvenience but look forward to 2022.”

Simon Cooper, organiser of the event, confirmed that the ASSA Conference, the Jim’s Pools Conference, the ALFAQ Aquatic Managers’ Conference, the SeaWorld Tour and the SPLASH! Golf Day will all be held as part of SPLASH! Week 2022.

Cooper says that Interpoint actively monitors the covid situation and keeps abreast of information from local and national authorities, public health advice and World Health Organisation guidelines.

“The safety and wellbeing of our sponsors, exhibitors, visitors and staff is of paramount importance and remains our top priority,” he says.
