Switching over to the new CPD system

As mentioned previously on this website, the NSW CPD system now operates under a 12 point per annum system. The NSW Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has now released some scenarios to make it easier for builders and pool builders to understand how to change over to the new system.

The OFT has also announced that Pointsbuild has gained funding under their Home Building Grants Program. Acting Minister Verity Firth says the Pointsbuild website offers courses in basic legal and financial training for builders and swimming pool builders, and with the grant they will be able to develop and promote it further.

 

Because the system is very flexible, builders can access just one module or as many as they wish and are able to earn all their annual CPD points online. CPD points can be earned by downloading and studying any or all of the Pointsbuild Modules, each one of which earns 2 points.

 

The Pointsbuild course can also assist pool builders to earn CPD points through their partners or associates. In line with OFT policy, partners or associates can undertake 1 or 2 points per hour learning on behalf of the business by downloading and studying a module. The benefits of the Pointsbuild method are that CPD points can be earned anyplace, anywhere, anytime (with no time off work or travel required) as long as there is access to the internet.
