Zodiac Freerider FR1000IQ product recall
Fluidra has discovered a manufacturing defect in the lithium-ion battery casing of a limited batch of 475 Zodiac Freerider FR1000iQ robotic pool cleaners.
Fluidra says their discussions with local regulators have now concluded and they will be initiating a recall of the impacted units, as per the formal ACCC Recall Notice.
This is a limited recall that only affects Australia. It does not affect New Zealand as no items from the affected manufacturing batch were sold there.
To help identify if you have an impacted unit, please check the serial number as indicated on the image to the right. You will find the relevant serial number printed on stickers in one of three locations:
· On the packaging close to the barcode
· Underneath the cleaner
· Inside the cleaner when you open the cover and remove the filter canister
If you have any Freerider stock that matches one of the serial number combinations above, please set the stock aside, and contact Fluidra at 1300 392 578 or au.fr1000recall@fluidra.com.
They will arrange for the replacement of the stock and the collection of any affected units at no cost to you.
If you sold a Freerider robot after February 26, 2024, it may be impacted by this recall. Freerider stock sent from Fluidra between February 26 – May 27, 2024 may have included units that came from the impacted batch. Any units sold to you after May 27, 2024 will not be impacted.
Fluidra says they would be extremely grateful if retailers would contact any end users who may potentially be impacted by using the following letter. Additionally, they have provided an updated copy of safe handling instructions that apply to any lithium-ion batteries for your reference.
