Pool safety barrier survey deadline approaches

April 6th, 2017

Pool safety barriers are an important issue for the pool and spa industry, and if you have any interest in pool design, construction, safety, fencing or landscaping you may also have opinions on pool barrier regulation - perhaps very strong opinions, and maybe even some solutions.

If so, now is the time to let the regulators know your opinion as the deadline is Wednesday April 12, 2017.

SPASA Australia is currently involved in the revision of AS1926.1 - 2012 Safety barriers for private swimming pools (AS1926.1).

AS1926.1 is one of the most important Australian Standards relating to the pool and spa industry and your feedback is critical and urgently required to ensure SPASA properly represents the views of the swimming pool and spa industry as well as other affected industries.

Proposed changes to AS1926.1 will ultimately be assessed in a cost/benefit analysis. In order for the spa industry to properly prepare its response, it is vital that the collected data reflects any imposts or benefits the proposed changes may bring.

Individual responses to the survey will be kept completely confidential and not shared with any party.
