Transforming Taree: Get Set Swim School's Major Upgrade
Twelve months after the AUSTSWIM "Soak It Up" conference on the Gold Coast, the team at Waterlink is highlighting the major prize winners, notably the Get Set Swim School. Following a meeting with Lisa Rodgers from Get Set Swim School, Waterlink's representative travelled to Taree to provide a quote and inspection for her swim school.
Upon inspection, it was clear that while the facility was impressive, the pool itself didn't reflect the high standards of the swim school. The existing system included a Rolla Chem one pump and a single 23-inch filter, which were insufficient for maintaining optimal water quality.
Recommended Upgrades for Get Set Swim School
Waterlink provided Lisa with a detailed quote and recommendations to bring the pool up to the required standards. The proposed solution included a Tere’o Touch commercial dosing system combined with monitoring and a WSE300 AOP UV system. This combination would keep combined chlorine levels (responsible for the unpleasant chlorine smell common in indoor pools) in check and eliminate harmful pathogens like cryptosporidium and Giardia. Additionally, it would enhance the overall look and feel of the water.
The Unexpected Windfall
A few weeks later, Lisa received a wonderful surprise: she was the lucky winner of the system upgrade giveaway at the Austswim conference. Seizing the opportunity, she decided to further upgrade the filtration system by installing two new 32-inch filters with AFM glass media.
The Installation Process
Waterlink installed the following equipment:
Tere’o Touch with remote monitoring
WSE300 AOP UV System
This setup allows Lisa to stay on top of her water chemistry even when away from the center, providing her with peace of mind knowing that her patrons are swimming in the healthiest water possible.
The Results
Get Set Taree now boasts sparkling pool water with the following consistent levels:
Active chlorine at 2.5 ppm
pH at 7.6
Combined chlorine comfortably between 0.4 - 0.6 ppm
The pool no longer has that overpowering chlorine smell, thanks to the advanced UV system.
A Collaborative Effort
Waterlink was assisted in the installation by Tony Arbidans from All Pool Solutions, ensuring a smooth and efficient upgrade process.
Conclusion
Twelve months on, the Get Set Swim School in Taree stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in the aquatic industry. With top-of-the-line equipment and meticulous attention to detail, the swim school now offers a superior swimming experience for all its patrons.
